We ordered curtains for the house, unfortunately before reading the reviews.
We paid a deposit of $1000.00 which was 30% of the full cost based on a delivery of 4 weeks from order. We kept calling for 5 months to find out where our curtains were to be told they are being made in Queensland, then Sydney etc. We were then asked to pay the full amount before delivery which I refused . When the curtains arrived only 3 of the 4 could be installed as the last track was 30 cm shorter than needed. Also one curtain had a thread catch .
We paid an agreed amount and agreed to pay the rest on final completion which took a further 3 weeks.
cARPET CALL HARRASED US FOR PAYMENT BUT DID NOT PROVIDE A SATISFACTORY CONCLUSION AND NOW WE ARE BEING THREATENED LEGALLY.
We will refer this matter to the trade practices commisiion.
want to share my Carpet Call experience and the reasons we won’t use Carpet Call again to finish recarpeting our 3 remaining Bedrooms.
My wife contacted your Capalaba Store to arrange a quote etc. She spoke with Anton who assured her, as a returning customer he would give a discount once our quote was done.
Our appointment went well, unfortunately I can’t remember the Salesman’s name, but he was a nice Guy, a bit slow but very precise so not to much to complain about.
We had 3 rooms quoted, Lounge, Dining, Master Bedroom & W/robe. All up the quote came to $3800 with the Carpet & underlay chosen. Also took the option to have the old Carpet removed etc.
We agreed to do all furniture etc.
After initially signing paperwork it was agreed we would visit the store to look at other Carpet and discuss with Anton. We hoped with a bit of discount we might get away with $3500 which would really help our budget.
Met with Anton at the store and finally decided we would stay with our original Carpet choice.
We then sat down to discuss price. Anton the questioned the quote and how the Carpet had been set out? He believed it would be better done his way. After review our quote became over $4000!
Obviously we were not completely happy but Anton seem to think it would be better. I know he called the Sales guy to discuss why he had quote the way he did but did not hear the conversation.
We were obviously disappointed with this but after some consideration Anton agreed to discount to $4000 all up.
We eventually agreed to the deal due to the fact Anton agreed to a fitting date that really suited us due to the delivery of our new furniture.
It was scheduled the Carpet would be laid on Friday 03/11/2023 which was good for us as our furniture was scheduled for the following day 04/11/2023 giving us time to get our rooms sorted. This also suited Carpet Call as new stock was arriving just before this etc. We paid a deposit and left the store, not entirely happy but with assurances on laying to meet our schedule etc. we were happy this would happen.
I arranged to take an annual leave day for the Carpet laying and all looked good until we get a call to say carpet can’t be done on the Friday 03/11 now!
My obviously wife protested this due to our Plans etc. with new Furniture. Eventually Anton said it could be done on the Saturday 04/11 but was not happy because it would cost him extra due to having to use a Carpet layer from the Gold Coast!
With this now clashing with our furniture delivery my wife spent a stressful time trying to rearrange our furniture delivery.
After a lot of ringing around she eventually managed to ensure the delivery would be later in the day.
On the Day our Carpet layer arrived and I am happy to say the most positive part of the whole experience. Jake the Installer was perfect. A very polite, well mannered professional and a pleasure to have at our home. We can’t speak highly enough of this man. We explained what had occurred with Anton and he was very apologetic on Carpet Call behalf. He also said he would do his best to accommodate the Furniture delivery schedule and get the main areas laid first, which he did. An excellent job was done by him.
The down side from this is the amount of Carpet we have left over! We have one large, almost square piece that is 4.5 sq metres in size and several long sections that are almost a metre wide. All up we have around 7 sq metres of carpet left over! We now have to question the change to the quote that Anton did? That a lot of excess carpet and a lot of money’s worth?
We were hoping for a follow up courtesy call from either Anton or Carpet Call to see that we were happy but that has not come. I hoped to discuss this excess carpet then but as this has not happened I find myself writing this letter. We certainly don’t have any faith in Anton and will not use this service again.
I am sure you can see why we feel this way and hope someone? Might want to call to discuss this with us.
Not happy!
Sinon & Tracy Taylor.
I thought I was finally getting help and then the asking for money began. I spent thousands on a terrible laying of Click Boards (many broken) and to make things worse finding out that the state manager is doing cashies. Found this out when I called head office and they couldn’t find paperwork regarding the laying. When asked if the state manager did a cashie? she replied ‘I can’t comment’. What is going on??!!
probably the most unhelpful service I've ever received. Didn't understand a question, completely automated answers and wanted $5???
Great little spot. ! !
