Customer service pathetic. Flight cancelled and no option to claim refund on manage booking option probably because one flight out of several on booking. Online help useless - spent ages waiting for phone contact. Will never fly with them again.

So after trying to call Jetstar for over a month with no response .. so I had a chat with jess online requesting a travel voucher after going online to request voucher through travel alerts thinking I was getting one .. with no response I actually get to a live chat which was not available last month to be told my flights are not cancelled and I should of contacted them before the end of April for my travel voucher .. well hello that’s what I did .. lucky I have proof not happy 😡

To Whom it may concern,

I am writing this email in regards to the unsatisfactory resolution of refunds and the lack of information given concerning the recent refund options due to the COVID-29 pandemic.

My qualms are with Jetstar ONLY offering vouchers in regards to cancelled flights due to COVID-19 cancellations. The Parent company in question (Qantas Group) have recently come into fire via the ACCC by not offering refunds in the form of their original purchase ie, credit/debit refunds, cash etc. Under the rights in consumer law customers ARE entitled to such a refund. I believe is if the parent company is under fire it won't take long for Jetstar to fall in line.

Many people have been disadvantaged by this pandemic and i feel more so for the staff of Jetstar, Qantas, Virgin etc having to deal with the amount of these enquiries as I wouldn't be the first. A service was paid for and ultimately cancelled due to COVID. There should be more information provided to customers in regards to how the terms and conditions apparently do not cover this this situation.

Very poor response from Jetstar's Corporate body in relation to how this can be better resolved. If your parent company can rectify this issue under the T&C's of the Australian Consumer Law under the watchful eye of the ACCC, then maybe Jetstar should take a note out of their books and offer this option to customers instead of the blanket response and 'remedy' (via flight voucher) for this exact situation.

I jus like many others were given an email stating that travel vouchers would be given, no other communication regarding any other options. I wanted a refund as i was entitled to one via Qantas and they were more than happy to oblige, but even still the processing of electronic fund would take atleast 8-10 weeks. Which seems incomprehensible as in this current climate, everyone is clutching at straws.

In an ideal world Jetstar should be helping the people as fast as they process their payments when you pay for the service initially, not wait to be taken down by governing bodies.

Rating of 1 as there was no other option or a negative button. I had 3 different bookings for flights and accommodation with Jetstar whom then sent me an urgent request email that due to COVID 19, flight restrictions had been put in place. I then requested to be reimbursed my $4000 and Jetstar sent me 3 vouchers. I made a further >10 attempts to seek my money and after 7 weeks i am still no closer to getting my money back. Therefore i have spent at least 40 hours trying to retrieve my own money.

The bottom line is that i paid for a service.

The service wasn't provided.

Jetstar are refusing to return my money.

Is this any different to stealing?

Does Jetstar apply their own Code of Ethics Policy?

The "manage booking" menu does not work. The credit voucher value only offers A$308.00 instead of the fare paid of A$481.93. JESS is a "dodgy" waste of time. Over 2 days 131538 giving up after a number of 2+ hours stints, 31 March cutoff is fast approaching. Like every other small business we also have additional issues to now sort through - no time for this.Maybe the call centre staff were put of amongst the 8000 stood down

I received the voucher of 800$ to use it until the next 6 months. I'm leaving Australia next month and I won't be using the voucher. I try to request the refund but nobody try to help me. Once more I request the refund of my voucher.

Rating is actually -0. I have spent 3 hours on hold for 2 separate attempts at calling Jetstar. I got cut off straight away with the 1st call. The 2nd call I started the conversation telling the Jetstar rep that if we get cut off, to please call me back, I was then told they can’t make outgoing calls!!! Shamefull! Well of course in the middle of me explaining my situation and requesting help, I was cut off again!


I guess Jetstar’s policy for customer service is NOT to communicate with customers.

So I’ve wasted 3 hours of my time trying to get help with a problem for a flight that’s in 48 hours. And still no help. And Jetstar has $486 of my money!

So what do you have to do to get customer service?

Shame on you Jetstar. It wasn’t this difficult to get you to take my money.

Your lack of service is disgraceful!

No excuses! Not even Corona virus!

Trying to leave Australia to go home. Flight from Hobart to Melbourne cancelled less than a day before departure. Leaving it close to impossible to catch my connecting flight. Trying desperately to get an alternative option but disconnected after more than one and a half hour on hold. Now on hold again. Another hour. Still no luck. Left with no option but to cancel all my flights. Horribly inadequate.

I would have given zero star , had that been an option . Due to corona virus all out bound flight from Australia are cancelled . It took me three hours to speak to call centre customer service in Philippine to cancel my flight to Phuket and she did not cancel my two daughters flight who were suppose to fly from Melbourne booked by myself on my own credit card . The customer support crew in Philippine will not cancel my daughters who are university student in tertiary education itinerary due to privacyreason andwhen all outbound flights are cancelled then jetstar should automatically cancel the itinerary and process refund voucher why we have be made to stay on phone for hours . Why can’t jet star arrange call back facility . One of my daughter is working in our back in fire affected area where the internet connectivity is very poor , even can’t can’t talk to her with best of efforts but jetstar want them to call to cancel their itinerary . I wish jet star was but more empathetic to corona virus pandemic and not more organised to deal with crisis . Any way the flight tickets were paid by credit card and email itinerary was generated at time of booking , it should have refunded the amount to credit card or generated the travel voucher to use in future . Now my two daughters wanting to come back home and they have to shell out another 500 aud to fly back home to Sunshine Coast . The jetstar is most disorganized airline at this time of crisis where as I cancelled my booking with Singapore airline at drop of hat for my international travel overseas . I am contactable on my phone number II have provided on my itinerary.
