My daughter took out Premium cover. She blew two tyres hitting a plastic bag ( god knows what was in it n couldn't swerve for other traffic). Called RAA n they refused to help her stating it was an impact! My daughter explaining what happened. They agreed to send rd service out. He finally came n refused to look under car as to dangerous.... car was in a car park n safe! He didnt even touch her car then proceeded to accuse her of hitting a gutter right after she told him what happened. Instead of a free tow for having premium he told her he'll organise a tow but will cost over $100. A few hours past waiting for tow truck to get a call to say tow truck cancelled as couldnt find her. No truck had been anywhere near her. Rebooked tow truck. 3 hours later it has just shown up. My daughter is a nurse n been on night shift. She called RAA at 7 30am! Its now 11.50am n tow trucks just arrived.

Why have Raa if they wont help?

Oh n now tow truck is refusing to take her with the car so she's standard !

Absolutely fuming!

I accidently took out 2 policies with the RAA on my 2003 BA Ford Falcon XR6 due to an online glitch. I called RAA to cancel one and continue with the other. I paid for the Insurance by credit card and was issued a certificate of Insurance. Every day for the next 3 weeks I was bombarded with emails and messages saying there was a problem with my credit card and payment could not be made. My bank statement clearly showed the $65 premium had in fact been taken from my account. Over the following week I received numerous emails telling me that my insurance had been cancelled due to non payment. Yesterday another $65 was taken from my account by the RAA Mile End SA for my " cancelled insurance ". So there is no peace of mind with the RAA. You'll never be really sure if you are covered or not. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. I have emailed them numerous times and even threatened to report them to the Ombudsman without response. They dont appear to be at all interested in anything other than taking your money. I do NOT recommend them at all.

I had to visit the RAA office at Richmond today 3/11/21 to transfer all our insurances as my partner Alfred Henderson had passed away. The young lady that looked after me was working there today as a relief from the city office, her name is Jane. She spent quite a lot of time with me even foregoing her morning tea break, I was very grateful to her because when I left your office not only was I relieved but was sure she had completed everything that was needed to be done. Its a pity other companies do not have the staff with her compassion and diligence and happy to spend the time to make sure things are done correctly. I can only say well done Jane and thankyou. So many people are happy to make negative comments but I believe when some one does a good job they should be rewarded even if it is only a thankyou. From a very happy customer.

Owner of a Ford Kuga TF mark 2 Titanium with a 2.0 litre turbocharged non stop/start petrol fueled engine.

This vehicle is not listed in the RAA battery booklet which is supplied to the auto industry state wide.

Had an issue yesterday (10/03/20) with a dead OEM installed battery. Called RAA and got a quick response but the technician could only “kick start “ the motor as no battery was listed for my make of vehicle and if he did have one it would take an hour of work installing it (manufacturing of my model car ran in production for some 4 to 5 years.???).

Technician relieved not to work on my vehicle as the battery positioning is set way back in the engine bay as he could not supply me with a battery from his van. Technician gave me a “RAA specialist brochure “ indicating who could remedy my problem. Was advised to go to “G.D Automotive Electrical Repairs” at Para Hills West. This company also was unable to help me as they did not have my battery in stock, they sent me to “Independent Batteries” on Research Road who were able to sell me the battery for my vehicle ( a Platinum brand model N66MF) but would not install it because they would need to “pull things apart to get to it”, so back to “G.D Automotive” who gladly and timely removed my old and put in my newly purchased battery inside 20 minutes of me re entering their premises. This company I feel are well worthy of their “RAA accreditation”, I could not be more happier with their service and knowledge and workmanship.

My concern with all this if I was caught out in the country side with this same predicament would the the person who has to help me, and being supplied with the same RAA brochure, would they be able solve my problem. It took some investigating on behalf of “G.D Automotive” to find me the battery for my vehicle and I’m afraid that they may not have the same resourcefulness as my saviour of the day.
