Facebook is a joke of a company.
They are 100% anticompetitive.
This huge multinational conglomerate has repeatedly removed and restricted my business account for no reason.
This horrible company should be banned from Australia and forced to pay a massive fine.
With possible jail time for complicit executives.
More info in my issue: So the first two times my Facebook business profiles were taken down (linked to a real profile I set up), because they were both reported by someone apparently.
Both of these personal profiles with along with everything else connected to them (each page, group, and profile) were removed. Except you can still see the groups and their hyperlinks, although I could not use the URLs anymore on the new accounts though, which I had allocated to each group/page when I set them up; before being removed by Facebook.
I had not done anything in terms of violating Facebook's policy. I would not do anything to violate the policy, purely for the sake of my business. I would not do anything to jeopardise these accounts.
Facebook would not tell me what I did wrong, because both times these were reported “anonymously”.
Both times a business account was set up and linked to my registered ABN, with all the correct information Facebook had requested.
So this time I used my personal phone number to register my personal account, instead of my business mobile number.
So for the third time I established my business account, personal profile, page, and group all over again.
This time my account stayed active for about a week, so I assumed it was fine to start using. I asked the admins of a group if I was allowed to join and they said it was okay. So I joined. I liked a couple of posts and commented one supportive comment about something someone had found, to which they liked my comment, then I went to bed.
When I logged into the account the next day (24/09/2020), I received this message at 11:00 AM: https://ibb.co/3y9fk9L - Image 1
So I clicked on one of the notices and got this: https://ibb.co/wBqSz5K - Image 2
Then I clicked Learn More and got this: https://ibb.co/xjHGByV - Image 3
Then I went back and pressed appeal (after not doing anything wrong to breach Facebook T&C's) and got this: https://ibb.co/Qbqdsfc - Image 4
Even though Facebook gives me the option to submit an appeal but states that it will not review my appeal, I put one in anyway.
Fast forward to tonight, I was on my personal phone to my friend; excitably explaining to him that I was able to post to my own group again tomorrow, which it is just me in the group.
Less than an hour later I logged into my account and got this: https://ibb.co/MCd9rbk - Image 5
I thought my account would be deleted here because this is the same message I have got the past two times; after Facebook requested my driver’s licence, where my account was "removed" very shortly after submitting it.
Although this time it asked for my phone number and sent me a code, which I entered correctly: https://ibb.co/3kqwmND - Image 6
Then got this: https://ibb.co/R40SqS8 - Image 7
So because they already have my licence, I submitted a very clear image of my licence photo. I did not have a Facebook account before this, and Facebook does not have any other pictures of me. Therefore I thought this would be the best photo to compare to and verify my identity against. So I did: https://ibb.co/6J9NVgr - Image 8
Then I got this message: https://ibb.co/p3Vrfzn - Image 9
My account is most likely going to stay disabled now.
The excuse provided by Facebook is very similar to this one I got after I attempted to appeal my account suspension: https://ibb.co/Qbqdsfc - Image 4
^ Where Facebook states that it cannot review my appeal because of COVID-19 reasons. Even though it asks for one.
I kept getting notifications to pay for an advertisement but did not want to have to pay for this, so I did not.
I'm sure this is happening because I am not paying them any money.
This action by Facebook is 100% anticompetitive.
Facebook has even stated in retaliation to new media laws brought in by our country, that there will be consequences for this country and our people.
I am a young person just trying to establish my business and this is what they are doing to me.
My Instagram is working okay, although I had a few issues recently and complained to the help team. Which they replied it should be working well now, with no other explanations?
Has anyone else got any experience with this?
It is getting me really down.
I do not know what else to do?
All my local business have social media accounts and after speaking with the people operating these businesses, they have all stated that social media accounts are essential to attracting customers and expanding.
If anyone could please help or provide any information about a similar issue it would be of great assistance. Thank you!
