Officeworks

Bought 2x office chairs from Officeworks in 2016. They've been great chairs until the gas lift decided they did not want to lift anymore. Also, the seat cushions were somewhat worn. Spoke with Furniture Manager at Fountain Gate store in July 2020, he asked us to bring them back as they're under warranty. We decided to upgrade our chairs and he just did a swap for us. Great service, thanks Officeworks!

Don't try phoning any Officeworks Stores any time of the day and any day

I tried many other stores not only the store I wanted.

Amazing how large companies can get away with poor contact for those who can't easily travel to stores.

In-store service is good and in-store staff are helpful

I had bought a desk with them online to be told that they would have it delivered on the Monday (which I had off). When I had called them up, they said that it would be delivered in a few hours... then I called again to find it wouldn't be delivered that day. Indeed this was repeated on the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday till finally receiving the desk on the Friday.

As they have outsourced their delivery to Toll, they cannot track their orders, give a time of delivery other than between 9 am to 5 pm (although this changes days on end) and cannot prioritise their orders. Compare this to Ikea who can deliver with a time and have someone assemble it for you (we even received a call to say that the gentleman would be 10 minutes late and offered their apologies).

Amazingly the online service had initially claimed that the case was ‘closed’ in spite of the fact that the desk was not delivered and would not be delivered for another two days.

I strongly advise Officeworks to cease domestic orders until they can upgrade their online services and take ownership for the delivery of the goods. It is simply not an adequate excuse to handball your deliveries to another company and say that ‘it is not your responsibility.’

I rang up the Bundaberg store yesterday looking for a black ink only printer and was advised that they had some so went in today to pick it up and got some moron who said they did not have any but the lady that was with me showed him one and said yes that will do it but you have to add ink it is not a laser printer to which i replied i asked for a black ink only printer to which he replied yes but it is not a laser printer so i just walked out in absolute disgust i will not be back to Officeworks ever again because of this idiot.

I shopped at Strathpine, Brisbane store today. I shop there often. Today, I had un unfortunate incident where my irritable bowel decided tonplay up and I needed the toilet urgently. The public toilet was closed due to coronavirus so I asked, 'politely' if I could use the toilet as I have irritable bowel. The girl said no and I explained it was urgent. She went to ask the manager who, was serving a customer at the checkout. I don't know exactly what the girl said but the manager practically yelled, 'NO. NO WAY!. In front of a customer! Then the girl came back and said I could use the public toilet, which is what I asked for in the first place. Coronavirus or not, that manager reacted like that in front of a customer who could then see it was about me. I cannot control my bowel. The manager in essence humiliated me in front of another customer and to managed to make me feel as if I were a lesser person and dirtier than her and her staff members. Staff may not have to tolerate abuse but I certainly don't have to tolerate being humiliated and in front of other customers either. The virus is not that bad that it warrants such a rude reaction from an officeworks employee otherwise don't go to work if you're that concerned about the virus.

Every time I order for home/office delivery (even before the pandemic), it takes weeks for the goods to be delivered. I am provided with a delivery date, take a day off leave- and its rescheduled to several days later. This is then repeated multiple times. Office furniture I ordered a year or so ago, delivery was rescheduled 11 times. It was finally delivered the day after it was rescheduled, and was left at the side of the road because the entry gate was locked. When I try to contact Officeworks, calls and emails go unanswered. When I finally get to speak to someone, I am just given the Toll courier contact number, which is never answered! Other companies such as JBHiFi and Harvey Norman manage to delivery by the date they provide (which is usually within 2 to 5 days), but there agin they don't use Toll.

I shopped at a city store & tried to call to check if I had left a parcel there. 6 long unanswered phone calls later (2 city stores & Head Office) I had to travel back into the city by tram to talk to someone. Luckily my lost parcel was there thanks to the kind staff. They said their phone only works for about 1 hour a day ...... are you kidding? Officeworks management could take a lesson from Bunnings customer service!!

I used the Mailman service .there was no tracking. the parcel did no arrive. I asked for it to be returned, Many calls to call centre. they did no care, failed to call me back. they cannot run this mailman service and should get out of the courier market, NEVER AGAIN

Over several years I've bought many items from here, particularly electronic ones. Inevitably on a couple of occasions I've needed to return when something has proven faulty - it happens.
